Project Overview

iCertify is a B2B web platform designed to help organizations create, issue, distribute, and verify digital certificates at scale. I worked as the Product Designer across UX, information architecture, interaction design, and UI design, focusing on building a system that supports both non-technical users and high-volume certificate workflows while maintaining trust, accuracy, and brand consistency.

The Challenge

Organizations such as universities, training institutes, and event organizers relied on fragmented and manual processes for certificate issuance, including external design tools, manual data entry, one-by-one distribution, and no reliable verification mechanism. These workflows were inefficient, error-prone, inconsistent in branding, and vulnerable to misuse or fraud, making them unsuitable for scale.

Solution Overview

iCertify was designed as an end-to-end certification platform that brings certificate design, bulk issuance, automated delivery, and public verification into a single system. The solution enables organizations to create certificates using a familiar editor, issue them to individuals or in bulk, deliver them automatically via email, and allow anyone to verify authenticity using a unique certificate ID or link.

Product Architecture

The platform consists of two core systems: an admin-facing certificate creation and issuance system, and a public-facing certificate verification system. The admin system handles template design, recipient data upload, bulk issuance, and email delivery, while the verification system acts as a trust layer that validates certificate authenticity and issuer details.

Role & Responsibility

I designed the end-to-end UX covering certificate creation, bulk issuance, email distribution, and public verification.

Challenges & Trade-offs

Handling large datasets required strong validation, clear error feedback, and preview checkpoints to prevent costly mistakes during bulk issuance. The editor also needed to balance simplicity for basic users with flexibility for advanced branding, which was addressed through progressive disclosure of advanced controls. Trust and authenticity were treated as first-class requirements, leading to the integration of verification directly into the core product experience.
