Overview

FinTab is a concept fintech mobile application envisioned for the UAE market, designed to help users manage balances, explore investments, and move money confidently from a single interface. The project focused on solving early-stage trust, clarity, and usability challenges commonly faced by first-time fintech users in high-regulation markets like the UAE.

Challenge

Fintech apps in the UAE often felt either overly complex or narrowly targeted at experienced traders. Users struggled to understand balances at a glance, switch between investing and everyday money actions, and confidently perform tasks like buying, selling, or transferring funds. The fragmentation between wallets, markets, and transaction history increased cognitive load, especially for first-time or mid-level investors. In a trust-sensitive, regulated market like the UAE, this confusion directly impacted adoption and user confidence.

Key Design Decisions

I anchored the product around financial clarity and intent-driven navigation. The home screen was designed to answer one question instantly: “How much money do I have, and what can I do with it right now?” Primary actions—Deposit, Withdraw, Send, and Receive—were surfaced upfront, while exploration and investing were intentionally separated into a dedicated Market space to avoid mixing anxiety-driven actions with discovery.

For trading and analytics, I introduced a dark, immersive UI to support focus and reduce visual fatigue, while keeping transactional flows lighter and more approachable. Navigation was structured around user intent—Home, Market, Portfolio, Profile—rather than internal product features. Market data, charts, and statistics were simplified to highlight trends without overwhelming users with financial jargon, and AED-based pricing with familiar UAE banks was made explicit to build trust at critical moments.
